How to remove default IRC Channels?

Im running IRCD on SUSE9. The IRCD library came installed with the SUSE so i did not get a chance to compile it. It seems that by default it creates following channels:
&AUTH
&SERVICES
&LOCAL
&HASH
&SERVERS
&NUMERICS
&CHANNEL
&KILLS
&NOTICES
&ERRORS
I do not want end users to be able to see them since they will get confused! But it seems that im unable to become an OP in any of the deafult channels and change MODE to make them invisible... Are there other ways to hide/remove default channels without re-compiling the IRC?
Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to become an OPER in the default channel? Im logging in as the global Op but unable to take control over the default channel...
