how to remote fedora from windows 2000


I need help to decide how to connect to my fedora machine .

the fadora machine doesnt have a monitor so ( from another windows 2000 pc) I want to connet to the linux nachine , I dont want just a shell I need to see the desktop ( the x server, thats how its called ) to connect to the machine throw a shell I allready use putty, what is the best and easy way that I can connect ?

which is a good comercial software ?

also : the linux machine runs on a pentium 2 slow pc

If you want to connect from windows then you need "exceed" from hummingbird. You would need to enable XDMCP on the X server.. /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf for GDM.

VNC would be the weapon of choice. Here's a brief introduction to different VNC-software: http://www.nyu.edu/its/humanities/docs/vnc.html

Of course, you need to install the vnc-server software somehow, but that can be done via ssh (without monitor, keyboard and mouse).

Im allready using ssh

Im allready using ssh to connect to this linux box I want to see the linux desktop.
