Wink How to print from SLES 9 to an HP 1100a connected in Windows network.

Hi guys I have just entered in to a the new world of linux. Its kind of tough migrating from Windows to Linux.
Right now I need help on how to print from SLES 9 to an HP laserjet which is connected to an HP Jetdirect 500X. The printer is connected to port #3.
Our offfice is purely a Windows based. The server is running Windows NT 4.0 Server.

By typing the IP address of the jetdirect under konqueror i can browse the settings of the jetdirect. I Tried to use YAST to add the printer.

What could be the best way to configure YAST so that I can print to that printer.

I have suse 9.3 and i user utilities>printing>printing manager

click add>add printer/class
this brings you to add printer wizard
click next and click SMB shard printer (windows)

click normal account and fill in the windows username and password. I would use an account with administrative permissions to the windows printserver
click next.
fill in the workgroup name
for the server name: //ipaddress of server
Printer: //ipaddress of server/windows printer share name (usually case-sensitive)
click next
chose the manufacturer and model number and the driver (you may have to try different print drivers)
then continue with the wizard filling in the rest of the information requested or just choose the defaults and save the settings.

Thank you very much for this information it helps me a lot and now i can print to the printer.

-Right now i am trying to print directly to an HP DesignJet 500PS but i cannot see the printer on the network. I don't know if there is a jetadmin specifically designed for Linux.

-Do you know how to configure in linux so that i can just print direclty to it.
