Question

Guys thanks but thats not what I want.I tried this commands before and it seems not to show any user activity at.NO to say at all ..For instance top do show something that is curently going on.What about i want the history of a user. His whole activity for the past two weeks or more.Is there any command or program that record these things for a user such as this.?The idea is like how intenet cache function..IE cache seems to have all the history on which web site a user went and so on.

I did heard that in a large organization, there is something called as load files, I mean if a user download anything from the internet, the download files have to pass through the server and will be logged in to the server log file.

Is there something like this?

Precisely what are you trying to monitor?

If you are merely interested in a user's internet activity, I suggest setting up a proxy server like Squid and require authentication.

Beyond that, I believe you would have to do some serious "stealth" work on the user's workstation to monitor everything that goes on.

Set up a Squid Proxy for the internet stuff... as far as local files... I imagine something like Tripwire might do what you need.
