Question How to limit telnet access to a specific directory based on logon?

Any help appreciated.

I would like to stay away from that commercial SSH package that has chrootgroups, which is essentially what I would like to do.

Thanks in advance.

Then use OpenSSH ... NEVER EVER use something like telnet ...

Yeah, basically you want to use something that is more secure, using telnet, it passes all data thru with plain text, so it would be easy for someone to sniff and get usernames and passwords.. and anything else during your telnet session.

And there are many ways to limit someone to a specific directory, one way is to change the permissions and ownerships, group ownerships..

thanks for the replies guys.

Does openSSH support rooting like SSH? Or do I need to patch somehow to get that functionality.

Cheers.
