My current network has combination of windows clients and Fedora Core servers. I've completed my Fedora Samba server setup.

Now is the turn to setup user accounts of up to 100, on the Fedora server. Currently, all users logon to the workgroup (not domain) using their own user account. I am thinking of provide a direct path so as all users can setup their own user account on the fedora server.

For example, provides a means for them to setup user account in Fedora, and then link this user account to smbpasswd, so as they can use samba server for file and folder accessing.

Any suggestion is appreciated!

well...what you could do is this:

1. Create a database.
2. Create a user interface so the users can input their username and password into the database
3. Once everyone is done, create an executable script which executes as root (since you need root privileges) and it creates all the users and maps their accounts to samba accounts
