how to install linux client for Microsoft ISA Server?

how to install linux client for Microsoft ISA Server?

our company use micro$oft isa server ( Internet Security & Acceleration Server)

So, How could I configure my linux to Internet? (for the non-socksified programs)

:smash:

I have configured my Mozilla correctly.
But other program like ftp, pop, smtp doesn't work, let alone some direct socket programs.

question2:

when I install socks5-client rpm(a very old version, becuase I can't find newer rpm package)

it report:

error: failed dependencies:
libncurses.so.4 is needed by sock5-clients-1.0r11-3

but I have libncurses.so.5

how to fix that??

Thank you.

I have the same problem as AnnoD04's Question 1. But I am running SuSE 8.2 with KDE 3.1 so socks is already installed. My ISA does not support socks, don't ask why, it's out of my control.

Do I have to have Socks installed on the ISA to connect to the Internet?
Is there an equivalent of the MSISA Client for Linux?

AnnoD04 what was the trick to getting Mozilla configured? Mozilla by default will use Socks 4 or 5.

Is there a solution?

Thanks,

I have got 2 questions to you AnnoD04 if you answer them i may be able to answer yours.
1. Can you please tell me what you did to Configure Mozilla?
2. Are you sure your isa server supports socks? i havent found any way to set up mine to support socks.

When I last checked, the problem was to do with MS ISA requiring NTLM. Mozilla for Win supports NTLM, but not the Linux Version.

So unless you have a solution to inlcude support for NTLM into KDE or to the Mozilla browser, there is no way to authenticate against the ISA.

You may, try to setup an internal proxy and work in proxy through proxy mode. This does work.

I found out myself:
Look here: www.sbslinks.com/Linux.htm
Its written for SBS but the isa is the same.

edited for spelling errors.
