How to host website using adsl router
 
Hi all

i desperately need a help from all of you for hosting a website currently i own a static IP provided by Tata Indicom the following are configuration

Hardware:Intel965ry
OS:Fedora core 6

After getting connection the following things happend

1.The tataindicom provided a BCM96338 ADSL Router and the static IP address is given to ADSL router but whenever i type the router configuration or console opens

2.My intention is to run website .so with my friends knowledge i activated the ADSL in bridge mode and entered the static IP in linux box.previously ADSL was in MER mode

3. After entering static ip i have restarted httpd service and iam able to see a test page with in local but not from internet

kindly guide me in solving this issue if nating is required please guide

I must admit that I didn't understand everything you say. But it seems to be me that you need to port forwarding enabled. Most routers contain a firewall and without port forwarding all incoming ports are blocked. Just check your router configuration and forward port 80 to your local webserver. That should do the trick.

Thanks for your reply can u tell me in what mode i should use a router whether in bridge mode or MER mode

hard to say, for me the mode isn't bridged but RFC 2364 PPPoA with LLC multiplexing
that's something you need to test to see which modes works out for you..
