how to get in to the root previledge when we are in the setup
that is if i have a root login in my system and if i forget the root password then how to get in to the root

What distro are you using? Put this in your profile to help us help you.
You may have to boot up with the install disk, or select a different option in GRUB. For Ubuntu, you can select the "Linux Rescue" option in Grub, which will boot you up in single user mode. This gives you root access, without needing the password. You can then run "passwd root" to reset the password.
