How to get DHCP Client to run w/o a NIC?

Hi

I'm still trying to get my usb adsl modem to run. Installation of the RH9 drivers supplied by the vendor failed. According to vendor it's because I don't have DHCP client running. Ok, but how I'm supposed to get it to run without any ethernet card? I tried to install an ethernet with "other card" option, but couldn't activate it, because no card was found. I have no dhcpd.conf (?) in my RH9, so it's not running althought it has been installed in RH installation.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

Janne

Ok if it's not possible to run dhcpd without a NIC, is it possible to disable RH to probe the NIC, by that RH could activate the "fake" ethernet and enable the dhcpd and I could finally install my usb adsl RH drivers?

Thanks

Janne
