how to find oids


how can i find the oids for my machine??

snmpwalk -c <community> -v1 <ip>
doesnt return the numbers but only the description.


Is any way to get the oid number for my ethernet??


any help will be appriciated

erm, i think the option you want is -On or -oN to show numbers only. if you'd read the snmpwalk manpage you'd see it there...

yep, this worked...

one more question

is possible to use oids to monitor ethernet traffic?? i think i am doing something wrong

yep. can't tell you what you're doing wrong without knowing what you're doing in the first place... check out nagios, cacti or opennms

I am try to configure cacti, so i can monitor ethernet traffic
For some reason i cant do that
I am getting number of users,processes etc using snmpd but i cant monitor interfaces....
