How to enable directory browsing inside public_html?

I'm trying to setup user home pages on my server. I have apache2 as the webserver. I added "UserDir public_html" to my apache2 config file and I can see the contents of public_html (index.html) just fine.

My problem now is that I want to add a directory inside public_html that I want to be able to browse. For example, say I want to be able to browse the localhost/~joe/photos/ folder. The question is, what do I need to do to be able to browse the contents of 'photos' in a web browser?

Note that I'm looking for a general solution, ie any directory under public_html should be browsable (not just this specific one).

Prolly just need to turn Indexes on in your httpd.conf file:

<Directory /path/to/your/dir>
Options Indexes
