how to create a different subnet ?


I want to have my access point on a different subnet. How do i create it ? Thanks
my lan looks like this :


mode - router - switch - 1pc 2 pc 3 pc access point ( all 4 connected onto the switch)

you can route multiple subnets on a router without tagging, assuming that the router is a linux based router then you'd just add an extra ip on a seperate subnet on the same interface. if the linux router is routing, then implicitly, routing between those two subnets will be enabled.

Subnetting is not the simplest thing ever. I is taught in CCNA1 for Network+ industrial certificate. And then the ACL thing that you might want to use (logically) is in CCNA4. If you really want to dig into these things:
