how to control users from taking more printouts???

hi everyone,,

i have a RedHat linux server which has more than 10 printers connected to it. we also have a windows network with more than 2000 users connected to the windows domain. now my problem is that i have to configure a print server in linux from which all the windows domain users should be able to connect and take printouts from the respective printers. but my main issue is that i should be able to have control over number of printouts the windows users take. for example I should be able to block a windows from taking more than 20 page print and another windows user from taking more than 10 page print. how can i control a windows user from taking more printouts?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

i will be greatful if anyone help me in this issue.
my ID is imezsons@rediffmail.com

thanks in advance

HI Frnd
Pykota is the solution for u . In my view you can do this
Add ur most used printer to a linux box. I would suggest that you use cups so that installation hassle is not there.
Then for win clients share this printer through SAMBA.
For print accounting (which is actually a concern fro you), you should install PYKOTA . You can add many printers to your linux box through one way or the other i.e either directly connecting or through SAMBA or whatever and then all these ACCOUNTABLE printers to PYKOTA.
Now the accounting for all printouts will done via pykota.
you can set a limit on the number of printouts you wish to grant and VOILA
ur problem is solved.

I have installed pykota at my place and even have a doocument for that in case u need that do drop me a mail at dhiraj.gaur@gmail.com
