How to connect Yahoo Net2phone with K phone in Suse Profesional 9.3?

I wish to now the procedure to connect K phone with Yahoo's net2phone. Since I am using Suse Linux, I use default Gaim for chats. However, it doesnt support voice chats.

To cut a long story short, I found that Suse comes with Kphone (It also has Linphone)installed. However, I have no idea as to how it works. Here is what it asks for:

user name
user part of SIP URL
Host part of SIP url
Out bound proxy
Authentication username
q value.
I have no idea as to what all this is. Google search didnt provide any clue and hence this post on the forums.

How to make it work? And in plain english, what is SIP protocol?

The short answer to your question is, - it won't work. Yahoo net2phone does not use the SIP protocol (I think!), and unless they (Yahoo) provide youwith thos parameters there is noe easy way of making it work.

I suggest you look for other phone poviders that would p-rovide you with the settings needed, such as broadvoice (www.broadvoice.com).
