How to connect to Internet with Roadrunner

Hey everyone.

I'm trying to get my machine to connect to the internet with Mandrake 7.1.

I have a lynksis Ethernet card.

I copied all info from windows and printed them out.

I don't know where to enter these values under Linux.

I've tried using the network option under Drakconfig (or whatever it is)

I don't know what and where I should put my information in.
It seems that some stuff is named other things or options I have no clue what they are.

Thanks.

Any good sites that show how to set this kind of stuff up would be great too....

Basically just run setup or netconfig to setup your network and be sure you specify DHCP and not static IP as RR doesn't use static IP's for its residential customers.
Also in some cases you'll still need your DNS server entries so you can browse sites by name and not number..
Edit the /etc/resolv.conf file to read something like this:

nameserver 24.93.35.32
nameserver 24.93.35.33

Of course those IP's would be your own DNS servers your using for your connection.

Also to add, your card should be detected and should use the tulip driver.

It seems that my network card isn't being reconized.

How do I add new hardware to my system? Or tell it where it is?

Well thanks, I'll play around with the network setting under gnome and KDE and see what I get.

Thanks.
