Our server is running win2000 and ISA Server for internet connection sharing, I am able to browse the net through all other OSes, but how can I browse the net through fedora 6 although I m providing my proxy server address, But i m unable to browse the net.
i configured my access as a manual proxy on firefox
no logs on the isa? maybe you picked the wrong port number..? if you have local ethernet connectivity to the isa server and you correctly set the server as your proxy then there's no reason it wouldn't work just fine.
i have dual os on my pc winxp and fedora 6
ip of proxy is 192.168.0.254
name is isa-server
port no is 8080
sir when i connect through winxp over firefox under same port and ip it connects successfully BUT when i reboot my pc and connect to proxy in fedora under same ip and port settings it does not connects
i have local network
plz help me i am very new to linux but i love to use it
well if you can ping 192.168.0.254, or better yet telnet to 192.168.0.254 8080 and get no error message, then your networking is fine. use the ip address, not the name to remove dns from the equation, and again, look for errors on the isa box.
