Why not use SSH which is much more secure? You should really use SSH unless you have some particular reason to use RSH. Plus, configuring ssh is easy -- just make sure sshd is running and port 22 isn't blocked by a firewall.
Just start the server up and go. If you need more details than that, type "man sshd" (no quotes) at a terminal for server configuration and "man ssh" for client configuration options. There are many options -- way too many to post here. If you can narrow your question down a bit, I'd be glad to try to help.
