How to check MAC algorithm is enabled in SSH or not?

The SSH server is configured to allow either MD5 or 96-bit MAC algorithms, how to verify ?
I checked
sshd_config and
ssh_config

ssh-config

has line
# MACs hmac-md5,hmac-sha1,umac-64@openssh.com,hmac-ripemd160

which is commented. Can i conclude it is disabled?

Lines starting with '#" are comments or the option is disabled. To enable it remove the '#'.

Probably executing the command :
# ssh -vv <remote-ip-address>

will display the information.

If you are on the server itself you can see which MACs the sshd is configured to use with the -T option.

Code:
sshd -T | egrep '^macs'
If you want to see which MACs your client are trying to use and you are using a recent version, then you can do the -Q option with the client.

Code:
ssh -Q mac
