Networking Question: RH9 with Windows XP

I seem to have a small problem. I can get into my winxp machine from my linux machine fine, but not vice versa.

when I go to network places i see linuxbox(localhost) and when i double click it says \\localhost is not accessible, check to see if you have access.

i assume i have to change the name from localhost to something else but dont know how. any hints or other help?

edit /etc/HOSTNAME to change the hostname of the Linux box. Format = Hostname.Domain, mine is:

cat /etc/HOSTNAME

Arrow Setting a hostname in RedHat

Actually, to set the hostname in RedHat,
you must edit the line HOSTNAME= in /etc/sysconfig/network

Well... long story short, i had already done that, and it works. I was just hoping there was a way without changing the localhost name. Whenever i change the hostname it breaks my core program mythtv.

oh well, time to spam the mythtv forums.

thanks anyways
