how to block hello packets in the linux bridge

Hello,
I have setup a bridge br0 between eth0 and eth1 using linux Enterprise with STP=OFF. But i still see the hello packets being sent out by my server. How to stop it from sending it out as it is causing the external router some issues when it receives the hello packets from my server.

13:40:48.160006 802.1d config 8000.00:d0:03:04:70:dd.8158 root 8000.00:d0:03:04:70:dd pathcost 0 age 0 max 20 hello 2 fdelay 15

thanks

if you run "brctl stp br0 disable" that would disable stp on br0, but i'm not quite sure if you're saying you want this bridge to drop existing BPDU's from other network segments, or to not create it's own. output of "brctl show" might help to show what's currently going on with that bridge

STP is already disabled but i still see the hello packets being sent out. It doesnt happen in the RHEL4-update2. but it happens in RHEL4-update4.

well if it's sending out BPDU's it presumabyl isn't disabled, regardless of what (i assume) ifcfg-br0 says... what does brctl actually state about the bridge?

i still see the hello packets sent out every 2 seconds.. when i enable STP, i see STP packets sent out. But when i disable STP, i dont see STP packets but hello packets are still going out. Looks like Hello packets will be sent out regardless of whether STP is enabled or disabled. I want to know how i can stop these hello packets from sending out form my server. is there any settings that i can set either put a large value or disable it. thanks
