I think I have it now, I found my Half-Life CD

The one I was trying it with was cstrike retail.

that explains alot, because cs 1.3 retail did have problems witht he installer....


now back to my original problem ;)

got it going now

after installing the ns patch, the hl update needs to be reinstalled

it was the same for hl and cs.

now they both work.

i'm excited that we got another gamer to play...but this doesn't help my balancing of the NICs. I hope to see you on my server (i'll give yo a woop woop if i see you)

why are the ips the same? It should work with differnet ips

you mean
route add -net 192.168.1.0/24 eth0
route add -net 192.168.1.0/24 eth1

?

because i'm telling the routing table that those nics are on the same network.....
