How to add and configure 2'nd LAN adapter into Slackware

I'de like to make a router, have two lan adapters
but when i start "netconfig", i complete it..and it's for one of the adapters...
all these settings are saved into rc.inet1.conf
how can i add ip address for my second lan?
i tried to add it manually in into rc.inet1.conf
but after reboot i can't for ex ping any address that is in the range of second adapter

Can you help me?
