how to accept my modem?

I'm using RedHat 9.0. I want to connect internet from Linux, but it's not possible :|
Despite of making all settings about internet (user IDs, passwd, etc...) ATI couldn't find my modem. I am using HP Omnibook XE3. How can it accept my modem now?

Please visit and pickup the appropriate drivers.

You will need to know the make of the modem e.g. PCTel / Conexant etc.
