How does everybody feel on "Apache 1.3 vs Apache 2.0"?

Hey everybody,

Just wondering if someone could tell me which Apache Web Server I should use. 1.3 or 2.0? I've got a Red Hat ES version 3 server but I'm not sure which version of Apache I should put on there.

I'll be hosting a few sites (Virtual Hosting) and will be installing MySQL and PHP on there also.

Any suggestions or comments are welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Some people are still using 1.3 as it's "known stable". I personally jumped right onto 2.0 to take advantage of the better featureset and higher performance and have found it to be very stable. I haven't run into any reason to run the older version.

Are you using PHP and MySQL? If so, how good do they work with Apache 2.0?

I've used PHP with Apache 2.0 and it works great. Haven't used MySQL, but the version of Apache shouldn't matter to it at all.

Thanks for the info!! I've just got one more question for you.

How about Virtual Hosting?

Works wonderfully. I think the syntax changed though? It's been so long since I've used 1.x that I can't remember for sure...
