how does CORBA fit in Linux system


hi there,
i have been studing about corba for some time but how does this all fits in Linux. i mean something speacial. more near the heart of linux.

I think GNOME uses CORBA through ORBit. Any application which uses Bonobo or something like tht will use CORBA. KDE doesn't use CORBA is it uses DCOP instead http://developer.kde.org/documentation/other/dcop.html

It seems both KDE and GNOME are being encouraged to switch to D-BUS http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-tutorial.html
