How do you run netmeeting behind shorewall firewall

have an ip masq linux mandrake server with shorewall.
Need to have Windows xp behind it connect to outside via netmeeting. How do you do it? Thanks

What protocols and ports are needed for netmeeting? Are you logging dropped packets?

A good way to dermine what needs to be opened for a particular application is to try and use it and log what your firewall does...

Another option is to check out the mailing lists for the shorewell firewall...

I read that a gatekeeper needs to be run. That is about all I know about it.

Ahh, I don't want to sound stupid, but what's a gatekeeper?

havent read much about this yet. Apparently something that will let netmeeting masquerade behind a firewall or something like that.

Hi. Can you see me more explanations for your Mandrake box? Version, etc?

cmisip 02-26-2003 10:40 PM

While I used to run Mandrake 9, I have switched to Redhat 8 because Mandrake 9 had some issues with networking with my new motherboard. I have Redhat 8 working as an ip masquerading dhcp server, a samba server exporting my windows data and print server via samba as well, I have nfs exporting my video files and use mythtv as a networked personal video system. I have dial up on demand working on this machine and mysql server. The machine is also a firewall with all ports stealthed but open to the local lan using a premade iptables script from the net. The only thing not working is video conferencing which I cannot do in Linux because my camera is not supported. I can do this off another pc running windows 98 or windows xp on a laptop but the other pcs have to connect to the net through this main linux box.
