Unhappy how do i setup basic ftp server settings


this might seem silly, but i have never had the need to set up an ftp server. can someone please help me with the basics. all im wanting to do is have a shared public folder that i can access whearever i am. i have tftp installed and am running suse 9. help will be most appreciated!
