how do i set this up?


i finally got a wireless network card that works with linux for my computer (i use suse). now that i have a card that linux recognizes, what do i do to get it online? all the computers in my house are wireless, but the one that im trying to get online is the only linux one. im not sure if i left out some useful details or not out. im just really confused about all this. any ideas?

Go to Yast
Choose Network Devices
Select the wireless card.
choose either DHCP or Static iP and click next.
It should bring you to the screen to input your ESSID & passphrase or encryption.


That should be all you have to do. Maybe set the default gateway if your setting your IP manually.

don't forget to tell firewall to use wlan0 for connection, and set MAC filter on gateway if enabled (good idea for security)
