How do I save my routes and routing tables?
Hav been having a kick at the Advanced Linux Ip Routing docs.
I now know many things about routing and how to issue their commands using ip route, ip rule, route etc. I just want to clarify about something i noticed when i configured routes from the command, they went well but after rebooting my box, the routes were gone. I wud like to know whether i am meant to save it inside a table in the /etc/iproute2/rt_tables and then issue the commands or create a route script and place them in the /etc/init.d directory. Linux Routing is powerful. Pls help me out here to know if i ll be doing scripts Thanks |
If you're looking at the Advanced Linux IP Routing docs, I suggest you migrate your networking scripts to the /etc/net project.
