How Do i Network?
i am using mandrake 8.0 i have a network computer running windows98 how do i access its shared folders?
its networked using IPX/SPX , Netbuie (not sure if i spelled it correct)
do i have to mount the network drives? or is there some sort of network nieghborhood for linux?? lol

You asked for Linux software that lets you use Network Neighbourhood, that software is Samba, I provided a URL where you can find the software (which you probably already have) along with instructions.

well i installed the RPM and it doesn't show up in my menu.. or it doesn't work in the console.. its odd

Try reading the manual, you can find it on the website and it should have been installed along with the RPM.
If you can't find the version the rpm installed then to "rpm -ql packagename" to get a list of all the files it installed, the documentation should be fairly obvious in the list.

problem
whats the problem in it.
download samba and install it if rpm does not work try tar format.
after instaling samba edit its configuration file and set secruity to user level if u want to avoid all other things.and creat a workgroup.
start samba and check if its work fine.documentaion is available at samba.org
if u still got a problem then mention what ur getting
