How Do I Get To The Internet?????

I have installed Mandrake 9.2 and cannot connect to the internet. I do not have windows as well on my machine. I tried KPPP but no luck on KPPP i get to modem initialising and it hangs up . I pinged MSN and got their IP address and used that but no go. Maybe i am going about this the wrong way. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanx ahead of time.

just saying that KPPP does not seem to be the right way to go. I plugged in all the numbers DNS/IP with the use of the wizard and it will not connect. I am getting very frustrated with this. I was hoping someone would be able to walk me through.

I’m confused. You say the modem fails to connect yet you are able to ping MSN? How are you able to ping MSN if your modem fails to initialize?

Before connecting, select open log file, then tell us what it says.
