Arrow How do I get my wireless modem to work as an access point for wireless devices?

I'm running xubuntu. I just got a new wireless modem from my ISP but I can't get the wireless setup. It didn't come with an installation CD so I called customer support and they told me to go to a website where I could set everything up, but it didn't work on linux and since they were unfamiliar with linux they couldn't help me. I can use the modem as a regular wired modem but how do I get the wireless to work?

It would help if you tell us the make, model, and version of the wireless modem.

# Connect to modem from your internet browser. Go the URL of http://10.0.0.138. For Internet Explorer you type this at the address bar.

You should be able to get there with FireFox.

Did you catch this part?

note the DHCP server address. This is the modem address. Utilise this address instead of the http://10.0.0.138 quoted above.
