How do I find my IP address??
I am new to the forum and as you can probably tell I am very new to Linux...I am using RedHat 9 by the way.
What run command do you have to type to see your IP Address?? I thought it was "ifconfig" but that didn't do it. Thanks for all the help...I'm sure I will have many more questions in the future. |
@Rosmo
Welcome to LQ. #su - <enter the root passwd> and then #ifconfig -Akshat |
Or

Which distro r u using ? Find some where in the applications, u will find terminal or konsole. And I think u need to read some docs. -Akshat |
Use one of the console programs, such as Konsole.
Also, the website below will tell you what your IP address is: http://www.whatismyip.com/ |
The problem would be if he's behind a router, it won't get his internal IPs. But good source for finding the external IP.
