how do i extract a .tgz ?
i have this .tgz file but i dont know how to extract it. anyone know? thx.

usually a tar zvf ./filename.tgz
man tar
for more info on options.

i tried it, and it gave me this:
tar: you must specify one of the `-acdtrux' options. any ideas?

my bad, in some cases a .tgz file won't be compressed so you should try tar xvf ./filename
