Unhappy How do i change the word "FISH" when i use Lan search ?

I have SuSE 9.0 Pro.

In Kongueror i click on "Location" then "Open Location..." then the icon at the right then at the left there is are icons and i choose "Network" i get on the right my computer name, i click on it an then i get 2 icons. one "FISH" and the other "SMB".

I know that "FISH" is my home shared directory. But i do not like for it to be call that.

How can i change it?

Thank you in advance.

Unhappy I do not understand

Pleas tell me the file and path i need to change.

if it is in "/etc/smb.conf" that will not change the FISH when i use lan search.

i do not see how to stop FISH in your suggestion.

by the way i do not have a user call FISH

I see that it is a lan configuration but i do not know what to do.

Please more detail.

Frank

file://user@host/directory/

I do not have a file:

file://user@host/directory/

You say that Konqueror refers to sftp shares as fish but that is exacly what i try to change please tell me how to change konqueror to refers to something that i can specify myself.

I do not know where FISH come from. I check in all my configuration file that i can think of and there is no FISH witten anywhere.

By the way, i have 2 computers with SuSE 9.0 Pro installed and both show the same thing.

for your question "explain what you have" i do not know how to make it more plain than at the begining of this post. if you click in the same sequance as i describe you will get FISH and SMB (SMB if you have setup your Samba Server).

Sorry. That should have been:
fish://user@host/directory/

Konqueror allows you to "browse" sftp shares. It's not configured anywhere. It's just a feature of Konqueror. Substitute appropriate usernames, hostnames and directories. For example:
fish://frank@webserver/home/frank/

Ok, I understand now.

It's a "fish" folder in the same level as the smb folder, right?

That's a protocol like http or ftp. It's not coming from your shares at all.

That folder appers when i lan browse. one on top of the other. first "FISH" then "SMB"

but "FISH" is not a forlder anywhere on my computer. I would never call a folder "FISH".

why Konqueror use that term i do not know for my computer is not a fish an i would like very much to change that. but from what i can tell form the other reply it is an internal function of Konqueror.

I would like to change it to the name of the user i log into. i guest the only way it can be done is to change the source code of Konqueror and update it.

Why in the world do the programers of Konqueror use that name. Konqueror is computer stuff not a aquarium...

FISH is not the name of the folder or share. It's the protocol used to get to the data, similar to http. You probably don't have a directory called SMB on your system.

It's like going fishing on the network. Mine does not have it. Mine uses Lisa for browsing, but it does not say Lisa on it.

I use lan:// I guess they just decided to go with fish instead.
