How do disable auto connect to wifi

Hi there,

I am running Ubuntu 11.10, and I use mobile network some times via an USB modem, when I am connected via mobile, there is random pop up requesting logon to other wifi network I have never accessed, even I remove all record (in network connection), I still get the same pop up everytime, wonder why this happened, I suppose I have to manually connect to any new network.

Is NetworkManager running, and are you connecting to your mobile network using something other than NetworkManager? If so, you can turn off NetworkManager when connecting via your USB modem
