Thanks blackhole54
With your help and
the iptables howto on debuntu.org I managed to share the Internet. However, the connection did not last for more than few minutes only
. I use SimplyMEPIS 6.5 now and its Network Assistant tool to manually configure the interfaces. Here are the current configurations:
eth0
IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.252.0
Broadcast Address 255.255.255.255
Defaul Gateway: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-- Provided by the ISP
eth1
IP Address: 192.168.10.64
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Broadcast Address 192.168.10.255
Defaul Gateway: 192.168.10.1 <-- this is the IP Address of the linksys router
The DNS servers are set manually as provided by the ISP. On my notebook I have the default gateway set to the IP Address of eth1, 192.168.10.64, and the DNS servers set to the ones provided by the ISP.
I noticed that when using KNetworkManager only one interface can be activated. Would it be possible to activate both interfaces?
