how can i find mac address

i'm using gentoo

Is there a way to find the mac address and address of my modem and pcmcia network cards?

the reason i ask is when i do ifconfig eth0 i get

Link encap: Ethernet hwaddr 00:0D:88:27:c5:BA
inet addr:192.168.0.5 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

base address:)x2000

i can't ping internally or the outside world.. I'm wondering why

i know this isnt very helpful... but try checking the ifconfig man page for verbose output

I'm shooting in the dark here and am braindead trying to figure out how to setup this stinkin dlink pcmcia network card.....

i can't ping anything...

if anyone has any clues or want to help i'd appreciate it

route -n gives me
destination 127.0.0.1 gateway 127.0.0.1... shouldn't this be 192.168.0.1 my router??
modprobe de620 gives me device or resource busy..
