I was able to connect to my mysql database and view all of the tables and edit them without incident with this article.

but this was done locally, on the same exact computer that the database was on. I followed the exact same steps on another computer but when I put in the IP address of the server inside of the information i provided i get an error, I want to know how to connect to the database remotely with LibreOffice Base, This will definitely help the way I work with databases when Microsoft access is without reach financially

I just tried using the same process as the article posted and i can't connect to the server remotely. I am wondering why since i put in the correct database information including the ip address in the server text box, I was also able to recieve a response when i pinged the server. Here is a picture of the error i have been getting. It doesn't make since to me since the username for root, password, database name, and ip address for the server is correct there no clear explanation for it
