Hostname?

I notice that i need a working hostname to get online with my net cards. Ive tried alot and nothing has worked. Does anyone know a way to learn the hostname of your router? I have an Apple Airport for a router. My brother uses the wireless and i use the ethernet out. It works with Windows so it does work, but i just cant seem to get this hostname! Ive tried Base Station but that cant be it seeing as how it has spaces in it...
Help plz!

Sorry, but you lost me...

You are trying to configure your Linux ethernet card and during this process it is telling you that you need a hostname?

Post the commands and errors that you get from the commands.
