homebrew router configuration

I recently switched internet services from dsl to cable. I do not have a router handy these days, but I do have a spare pc. I'm setting it up using a fedora based distro. So far, I can get online with the pc (eth0-dhcp), I've set up dhcpd on the lan side (eth1-192.168.1.1-wireless interface). Now, my wireless laptop can't get online. It gets an address and can ping locally, but I know I'm missing something. I think I need to alias my wan card to a static local address, but not really certain.

Help please?

All of the documentation that I've looked at seems to require you to set up iptables. In these sample configurations, they all assume that you have an assigned ip address from your provider. I don't believe that my address is static, and I don't want to manually change my iptables everytime comcast changes my ip address.

You don't have to have a static address from your ISP, but you do need to set up iptables to set up network address translation (NAT). If you Google for "Linux NAT" and "Linux IP masquerading howto" you should find some helpful results.
