Question Hide local network ip from linux who command


I will login every system of my local network. I dont want to show my ip. If they enter

Use tor.

I'm curious. I just tested who in Slackware, CentOS (VM), and Ubuntu (VM).

In no instance was I able to invoke the display of an ip address, though I could invoke hostnames. Also, the man page for who does not seem to refer to ip addresses in any way. What am I missing here?

Also, what about other commands that invoke ip addresses, such as ip and ifconfig (not all distros ship with both commands)?
