how do i add a default route on my host. I am not in root. i am in normal user mode.i did it like this but it says

add route default 148.200.16.1

SIOCADDRT : operation not permitted.

Pls help.

Hi (no pun intended ;-))

1. With regard to this question: I believe you need to be "root" to mess with "route add","ifconfig" and friends.

2. With regard to your other question, there are lots of tools you can use to analyze a network:

STRONG RECOMMENDATION:
