Hi I am looking for some help in setting up a Linux system that will host several webpages. That is all I want to do for now. I do have DSL installed on a win98se network. Are there any good books or manuals out there on this subject? I have the Redhat 6.5 version of Linux, should I go to the newer 7.1? Any advice, tips or references is appreciated.
Thanks in advance

What kind of webpages are you wanting to host....like a domain name or something? Best thing for you to do is read up on Apache Web server then. Maybe some Perl and PHP.
Hey I got a question for you, where did you get version 6.5 of Redhat, and I don't think there is a 7.1 yet, maybe your talking about Mandrake.

Good luck.....

I got a bit confused when I looked at the box for the software...I have the 6.1 ver. of RedHat, which is also 6.5 ver. of Linux (so says the box). To answer your other question, I have a few people who have their domain names registered, but need a home for them. I have been reading a bit on Apache, and it doesn't seem as complicated as I thought. All I need to do is set it all up i guess!
