Question Networking Via PPPd Help

Hi Guys,

I currently have two PC's (red hat 7.3) connected together via serial channel but am having problems trying to connect one of the pc's via pppd. Problem is I am no getting any local / remote IP addresses even though i have specified it in the pppd script and when i try to ping them I get no response and as a result am not to able to talk to one another. Does any one here in the forum know how to fix this???

asyncmap 0

also tried using other commands such as

ipcp-accept-remote > where i have the ip address however still didn't work
