how can i setup a boca lancard 2000 plus combo on linux mandrake 8? it doesnt seem to want to auto-detect it and it wont let me specify settings outside of the installer (i already went back and tried it) i have also tried the NE2000 compatable driver, AMDpc, and Lance. none worked. can someone PLEASE help?

I have the exact same issue but with Mandrke 8.1
The Bocalan 2000+ are fully NE2000 compatable
but will not load with those drivers ( or even lance or AMDpc ).

I tried Specifying the correct I/O And IRQ settings on those drivers to no avail.

Please Please Help !

I am kinda new to Linux
so any help would be great
I'm running Mandrake 8.1
I got everything working but my Network card ( ISA Bocalan 2000 )

When I run the network wizard ( it doesn't auto detect )
I enter these settings :
I/O : 0x240
IRQ : 3
( taken from my network card's DOS config utility )

Also there is another option under the NE2000 driver called " Bad "
I'm not sure what to put in there

I have tried changeing IRQ's and putting the I/O and IRQ setting from windows
but I still can't get this nic card working.
it sez " Failed " every time

Apparently this is a NE2000 clone, using a VIA VT86C916 chip.
