Help Newbie Networking

I have a Samba PDC and a Samba file server, two boxes that are almost where I want them but I am running into problems.

I need help with sorting out what I need! I have samba working on both but I cannot set my w2k machine as a client on the samba domain. I am looking for info that breaks it down. I have read so mannnnnnnny smb.conf files on the internet I sleep conf files. :-)

I made a list of things I feel I should know in order to really create this PDC and they are

netlogon
logon scripts
profiles
Unix users
smbusers
smbpasswd file
pam
winbdd

Know one might suggest that I need a class. I agree but part of my problem is that I start reading about one thing and it leads me to another and another and then I get lost. Anybody with a suggestion as to the reading path I should follow would be helpful.

I would more then happy sharing my current smb.conf for those that want to see it.

I have created my domain but I get lost in trying to figure out how to have users log in and where to put the scripts

I could go on and on.
