Help needed with ping-ing an internal machine (10.10.10.20) from the Internet
Hi,
First let me describe the setup that i have.
The IP address of my Linux desktop is 10.50.41.220 and i have a embedded device(which also runs Linux) with IP 10.10.10.20 connected to my Linux desktop. This device with IP 10.10.10.20 can be seen only from my Linux desktop. There are two ethernet interfaces on my Linux desktop.
1. eth0 - 10.50.41.220
2. eth1 - 10.10.10.21
Now first i telnet to 10.10.10.20 from my Linux desktop and try the following command:
ping 10.50.41.140
The above ping command works successfully! I got this up and running with IP Masquerading.
Now i need to be able to ping my device (with IP 10.10.10.20) from another machine ( say 10.50.41.140). How can i do this?
I tried using DNAT and changed the destination IP for all packets coming to my Linux desktop (10.50.41.220) to 10.10.10.20. But still packets intended for my Linux desktop dont still reach the internal device with IP 10.10.10.20. Please help.
Thanks in advance.
