Help needed to Automate the wi-fi roaming

I am using kde on debian, it has some cool network configuration tools but not exactly the way I want it..(tried gnome's, which was perfect..)
I usually roam w/my laptop to different locations, two of which need static IP settings for my nic. I have a script that takes certain profiles as arguments, which then makes the neccessary changes by using iwconfig, ifconfig, and route commands. However, I still have to make manual DNS changes with network configuration utility.
Is there a command, where I can specify what dns values to use for my nic.
If anyone can help me with this, I believe it would be beneficial for most of us who have similar annoyances..It may even be something nice to offer on sourceforge!

echo "nameserver 192.168.0.1" > /etc/resolv.conf
echo "nameserver 192.168.0.2" >> /etc/resolv.conf
